The Presidential election took place on Nov. 6. For most students at Marlborough, who are under the age of 18 and therefore cannot vote, it may have been frustrating and almost annoying to watch the Presidential debates, knowing that no matter what you think about the candidates, there is little you can do.However, I think watching these debates was important, because it is useful to truly understand who will be the President, the head of your country, and what he believes in. Even though politically there is very little that you can do, it is important for the future generations of America to understand the ever-changing world politics and to keep up with current events. Even if you can’t vote, you can join a club, write a bill or start a rally. Although right now, we as minors can not legally vote, it is as vital for us as it is for voters to comprehend what the important values of our country are, so we can understand how to help our country succeed and understand what challenges we might face. We girls also need to understand women’s rights and abortion laws in this country, because these laws do affect us.
