Working out at home

Are you looking for a workout that you can do in the comfort of your own home (while wearing pajamas)? Then this is the article for you! Most of you have probably noticed the increasing popularity of YouTube workouts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. You may have even attempted some YouTube workouts yourself. But hearing about the same fitness influencers, such as Chloe Ting, can feel repetitive and boring. So, I’ve created this list of my top three favorite fitness YouTubers that are not as well known to help you find new inspiration to work out!

1- Lilly Sabri
Lilly Sabri is the fitness YouTuber for you if you prefer workouts that focus on abs, cardio, and glutes. I always go straight to Lilly Sabri’s channel when I’m in the mood for a difficult workout.
Her longer videos, like this 40 minute high-intensity interval training and abs workout, leave me so sore that it hurts to move the next day (and sometimes the day after that too!). This workout is definitely a challenge, but it is so satisfying when it is over.
Her channel is also great if you prefer shorter workouts. Her five-minute abs workouts are great to do in the morning, during lunch, or even during a break between class periods. Lilly Sabri is also good for beginners, as she offers options for different levels in all her workouts.
The only aspect of Lilly’s workouts that I don’t love is the music. She uses the same music in every one of her videos and to be honest her music choice really annoys me. So, if you find the music to be irritating, I recommend putting the video on mute and listening to your own music.
As for specific workout recommendations, I would highly suggest this 10 minute abs workout, if you’re looking to sneak in a quick one, and this 40 minute HIIT and abs workout if you would prefer a longer workout.

2 – Caroline Girvan
I just recently discovered Caroline Girvan, but I have been obsessed with her channel ever since trying one of her workouts. Caroline’s content is amazing because she emphasizes building muscle and exercising for enjoyment rather than losing weight, which I think is a message we need to see more of in the YouTube fitness community.
Also, Caroline is one of my favorite YouTubers because she doesn’t aggressively yell at me to keep going when I work out. Personally, I hate it when fitness influencers are constantly screaming during the workout, as I find it stressful and overwhelming. So, Caroline is perfect because she takes a much calmer approach to her videos.
Caroline has a variety of workouts, with a wide range of length and difficulty levels. Some of my favorite workouts from Caroline Girvan are this short abs workout and this 30 minute HIIT workout, which made me so sore that it took me five minutes to get out of bed the next day. Her free workout program called EPIC provides both beginner and advanced workout options and is a great option for a long term workout plan.

3 – Vanessa Bauer
Although Vanessa Bauer does not post as consistently as the other YouTubers on this list, her workouts are effective and challenging. Also, her kind and bubbly personality puts a smile on my face every time I do one of her workouts. I love that she talks throughout the whole video, which is helpful to distract me from the pain I am experiencing during her challenging workouts.
Her channel offers abs and cardio videos that tend to be on the shorter side, ranging from 5 to 15 minutes. But despite their short length, her workouts are still really challenging!
As for recommendations, this abs workout is one of my favorite workouts on YouTube. Also, if you want a quick but effective workout, I would highly recommend this 10 min HIIT workout.
