As Marlborough girls already know, food matters. Here are some currently trending food fads–some of which haven’t even made it to the West Coast–that could spice up your current diet.
Cronuts
The cronut is a mix between a croissant and a doughnut. Caroline ‘16 finds them “deliciously perfect.” The cronut originated in New York at Dominique Ansel Bakery, where they are sold for five dollars a pop and attract long lines.
Ramen Burgers
Also from New York City, the Ramen Burger is an amazing creation. Not only is there ramen inside the burger patty itself, but the “bun” is made out of ramen noodles! Kenzo Shimamoto, the original creator of the Ramen burger, decided to introduce them to the West Coast last weekend at a South Bay Japanese market. Excited Angelenos started lining up at 6:20 in the morning! The Ramen burger is highly recommended for all Japanese food lovers!
Frozen S’mores
The frozen s’more was created by Dominique Ansel Bakery, the same bakery that brought us the cronut. Ansel decided that he wanted to mix crowd-pleasing ice cream and s’mores in order to create a “sensation.” The frozen s’more has a vanilla ice cream center wrapped in a chocolate wafer and covered in marshmallow.
