When walking into Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City, smells of ramen fill your nose. The atmosphere is fresh, bustling and inviting. As your mouth starts to water and you think you cannot wait any longer to be seated at a communal table in the corner, you see the maitre d’ walk over to you, menus in hand, waving you towards a spot to experience food like never before.
Once you sit down at your table and look at the menu, you feel the need to order as fast as you can, because your desire to consume this one-of-a-kind meal never ceases to grow. Momofuku is known for its ramen, and of course I had to order it. However, another secret favorite that many diners enjoy is the soy-sauce egg. It may sound odd, but this egg is a salty, umami bundle of deliciousness. While both the ramen and the soy-sauce egg are to die for, my all-time favorite at the Momofuku Noodle Bar has to be the pork-belly steamed buns. Indulgent and mouth-watering, this unique treat cannot be missed.
After hearing about how good Momofuku Noodle Bar and the dessert version of the restaurant, Momofuku Milk Bar, just down the street run by the same chef is from one of my sisters, my parents and I decided that we had to try it. I love Asian food, so going to one of the most notable and new Asian restaurants in New York City was an opportunity I could not pass up. I crave it all the time and just can’t wait to go back!
