The official Marlborough School Twitter account had been forgotten about until about a month ago when Associate Director of Communications Carly Rodriguez and Associate Director of Design and Digital Communications Chris Colthart revived the feed. With an audience of students, employees, Alumnae and parents, the account will allow those off-campus to experience what is happening at Marlborough, such as guest speakers and events.
A large portion of the Twitter account is dedicated to picture sharing, because trend reports have shown that the new generations are more attracted to sites and pages that have increased amounts of photos and videos. “It’s not as much of an informational site,” Colthart said. “We are trying to make things fun. [We want it to] be a celebration of accomplishments.”
Although the Twitter feed is not meant as an informational resource at the moment, Rodriguez hopes that as more people hear about and follow the account, it will become a fast way to communicate with parents and friends of the School. So tell your friends and parents to follow @marlborough on Twitter to get the inside scoop on what is happening at the School!
