Jacqueline Rosas
Before working at Marlborough, Health Teacher Jacqueline Rosas previously worked as an academic tutor and substitute teacher at a K-12 school, then taught health at Downey High School. In her free time, she enjoys doing hot yoga, pilates and going to pop ups for makeup and skincare brands.
“I’m excited to foster meaningful connections with my students and create an inclusive, welcoming community in my classroom,” Rosas said “I’ve thoughtfully chosen colors and decor to design a space that feels positive, engaging and supportive of learning and I’m thrilled to see how much the students are enjoying it!”
Sachiko Donley
7th and 8th grade Counselor Sachiko Donley is a Marlborough graduate who is excited to be back in a place that played such a big role in her life. She earned her Ph.D. in psychology and has counseled college students in various roles. She began her career at Princeton and has also worked at the USC Keck School of Medicine. She is excited to work with middle schoolers for the first time.
“I’m looking forward to listening and learning more,” Donley said “I feel very lucky to be a sounding board for students in an effort to help them sort through the complexities of life.”
Emma Goldin
Engineering and Entrepreneurship Instructor Emma Goldin worked at Crane Country Day, an independent school in Santa Barbara, where she co-taught engineering and design. She also collaborated with K-5 homeroom teachers to integrate STEM into the classrooms. Outside of teaching design and engineering classes, she helped out with her students’ weekly talent shows by playing guitar in the backing band, where she was able to see her students in a new light.
“What I like about Marlborough is how there are so many avenues where the students can explore their passions, like the Honors Research programs, Incubator and Accelerator programs, student councils, sports, performing arts and publications,” Goldin said. “I am most excited for the traditions like Pumpkin Day because I am curious to see what each department will choose for their costumes.”
Brittany Stewart
Human Resources Generalist Brittany Stewart previously worked as the human resources generalist for Groundwork Coffee Co. She has a wide range of interests, including crafting, cooking and attending concerts and sports events.
“So far, I like everything about Marlborough,” Stewart said. “From the buzzing campus, the brilliant students and the amazing staculty, Marlborough already feels like I landed in the right place.”
Malaika Nall
Inaugural ViBEE Fellow Malaika Nall was working as a private tutor and preparing for graduate school when she found out about the ViBEE Fellowship. ViBEE (Violets for Building Equity in Education) is a program created for alumni of color to have an entry into teaching. Nall looks forward to returning to Marlborough as an educator rather than as a student and immersing herself once again in Marlborough’s culture and traditions.
“I love the joy that permeates the campus and how supportive the staculty are of the students and each other,” Nall said.
Jocelyn Jo
Human Resources Assistant Jocelyn Jo managed a swim school and discovered her affinity for business operations. With this newfound passion, Jo worked to earn her MBA at California State University Long Beach. So far, Jo has fallen in love with the Marlborough culture and admires how supportive and welcoming the community is.
“I am most excited for the staff and faculty events because it is a great way to connect and get to know the Marlborough community,” Jo said.
Gaby Lopez
Senior Accountant Gaby Lopez previously worked for various consumer goods companies. She began working for Marlborough 11 months ago, but she is excited to experience her first full year at Marlborough.
“I love seeing how much fun the students have and how impressive their presentations and performances are!” Lopez said. “I have been able to meet many people on campus, and I can see how much everyone cares for the students.”
Jazmine Contreras
History Instructor Jazmine Contreras taught 9th grade World History and multiple electives at a small independent school in Berkeley, California. She was also an assistant professor in the History Department at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. She loves playing with her cats in her free time.
“I love that Marlborough is a place that centers girls and young women and empowers them to advocate for themselves and reach for their dreams,” Contreras said. “Students care about so many issues and take the time to volunteer and engage with their local communities on top of their schoolwork.”
Soyeon Lee
Korean Instructor Soyeon Lee recently completed her master’s degree. Before that, she worked at the King Sejong Institute USA in partnership with the Korean government to help expand Korean language learning programs. She enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new experiences with them.
“I’m excited to work with smart, hardworking people and to be part of such an inspiring learning environment,” Lee said. “The people here are supportive and make me feel confident that I can do my best work.”
Brianna Gauff
Associate Director for Annual Giving Brianna Gauff oversees the Marlborough Fund that supports the school’s programs. Prior to working at Marlborough, Gauff organized annual giving campaigns and was a grant writing and fundraising consultant for a girls’ youth empowerment organization.
“I joined the Marlborough community in February, so I had the opportunity to experience all the traditions that take place during the Spring semester like the Pin Ceremony, Ring Ceremony and Graduation,” Gauff said. “This year, I am excited to experience more of the all-school traditions like Pumpkin Day, Winterfest, Grandparents & Special Friends Day and Spirit Week.”
Brandon Benson
Network and Systems Administrator Brandon Benson worked as an assistant network admin at the county government in Kansas, and prior to that worked at a School District in Kansas as an IT technician. He moved away from California 10 years ago and is very excited to be back and closer to his family and nieces.
“I think the thing I enjoy most about Marlborough is the diversity. It makes it feel like a true melting pot here where everyone’s beliefs, culture and heritage, are celebrated equally.” Benson said.
Maggie Coleman-Levy
Director of Human Resources Maggie Coleman-Levy worked in human resources departments at various law firms. Most recently, she worked at Latham & Watkins. She has fostered over 2,000 dogs, and she loves going on walks with them to find new coffee spots.
“I love the community! Everyone is kind and welcoming.”
Kelly Jackson
Before joining Marlborough, Director of Equity, Community and Belonging Kelly Jackson worked at another private school. She has been in the diversity, equity and inclusion space for over 15 years. She loves traveling and going on morning walks.
“My favorite part of this work is seeing students find their voice and use it to create change,” Jackson said. “I love when students feel empowered to share their perspectives, connect across differences and imagine new possibilities for the school community.”
