2022 holiday gift guide

By Kate ’25 and Isabel ’25

Are you tired of endlessly scrolling through TikTok searching for holiday gift ideas only to find nothing appealing? Don’t worry, you’re not alone because we’re here to help. Our 2022 holiday gift guide, tailored specifically for Marlborough students, includes a range of prices and categories, so there’s something on this list for all your gift giving needs.

1. Oversized cable-knit sweaters

Any temperature of 65 degrees or below feels frigid in LA, so in order to keep yourself cozy this winter, make sure to put an oversized cable-knit sweater at the top of your wishlist. You can find this sweater at Aritzia for $98 (but a dupe at H&M sells for $34). While this sweater may have gained fame from the fan favorite “Gilmore Girls,” it truly is practical and perfect for living out your winter wonderland dreams.

2. Motivational water bottles

When your Café M spending account goes into a negative balance after buying excessive amounts of froyo, spending 25 cents on yet another cup of water can seem like a big purchase. Instead of buying endless cups of water from the Caf every day, a one-time purchase of a motivational water bottle will not only get you excited about hydrating, but it will also benefit the environment. There are tons of options on Amazon, but the brand Elvira sells them for only $10. Can it get any better?

3. Polaroid Phone Printer

Frustrated from waiting weeks on end for CVS to develop your disposable camera photos from the summer? The Polaroid Phone Printer allows you to instantly print photos with the press of a few buttons on your phone, while maintaining that vital vintage aesthetic. Although it may seem expensive at $99, the amount of money and time you will save from not buying dozens of disposable cameras and developing film will be 100% worth it.

4. The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Eye Serum

Although the aspiring “clean girl” look might seem unattainable, it now is thanks to The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG eye serum. And, may we add, for a very affordable price of $7. After endless hours of studying throughout the night, it might seem impossible to rid yourself of dark eye bags, but this depuffing and lightening eye serum will do the trick. Just keep in mind that the caffeine in skin care products like this won’t replace a Starbucks venti anytime soon since applying caffeine on your skin doesn’t have the same effect as drinking it, according to GQ.
