This year, Co-Director of College Counseling Monica DePriest has officially become the 11th Grade Dean, a position previously filled by English instructor Reid Cottingham. Her new responsibilities include keeping track of merits and helping the class choose Pumpkin Day costumes.
“It’s nice to see the students in a number of settings, and I think that girls are a lot more relaxed in a class meeting than they are in a college counseling meeting,” DePriest said. She believed that she was a logical choice for 11th Grade Dean. “I get to know the entire class, and then when it comes time to start the college process… I’ll already know [the students],” she said.
