Not to sound like a thousand-year-old nun, but when 18-year-old Justin Bieber’s music video for his hit single “Boyfriend” premiered on May 3, it seemed all colors of crazy grown up.  I mean, I guess we were all expecting him to start acting like an adult when he chopped off those luscious locks and started dating a cougar (aka the nearly 20-year-old Selena Gomez), but this transformation truly took me by surprise. First of all, why does he have like, seven love interests? What, one model-esque 24 year old isn’t enough?  And why is he grinding on her? Maybe I should just accept my nun-ishness because I was shocked and offended by this. Watching Justin Bieber grind with some random chick is like watching puppies go bra shopping or something — just so wrong.

The real question here, though, is how are the Biebs’ fans going to react to his new sexy, grown-up self? Painting with a broad brush here, I think it’s fair to say that his fans are predominantly preteen girls. Are they going to be okay with him getting all up on some girl who’s twice their age? Especially now that JBiebs has some competition (the still wholesome One Direction), how are his fickle fans going to respond?  I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
