Active alumna and former President of the Board of Trustees Nancy Barry Munger ’41 passed away at her home Feb. 6.
Munger left an indelible impression, having served on alumnae council as an active parent volunteer and trustee. She was honored as one of the school’s “Women of the Year” in recognition of her leadership.
“Her legacy is one of an alumna who was committed to her alma mater and to the friends she developed while she was a student here,” said Head of School Barbara Wagner.
Nancy and her husband Charles T. Munger gave transformational gifts and support that led to the development of Munger Hall. Before the Arden Project was conceived, Munger was responsible for urging trustees to purchase properties near campus, knowing the property would be valuable in the future.
Munger’s daughter-in-law Maribeth Borthwick said that Munger’s friendships made her deeply connected to the school.
“She was intelligent, selfless, and very inclusive of those she met along her path of life,” Borthwick said.
“She was a role model I respected and a friend I shall miss,” Wagner said.
