Wrapping up spring sports, the softball team and track team scored big at CIF. For the first year in Marlborough history, the softball team placed first in their league and made it all the way to quarterfinals in CIF, where they lost to South El Monte High School.
“This season was amazing, and making it to quarter finals was a huge accomplishment for us. I’m confident that we will make it even further next year, and only continue to improve,” catcher Taylor ’12 said.
The track team also placed first in the Sunshine League, tying with Marymount for the top spot. From there, Jessica ’12, Katherine ’12, and Clara ’14 all qualified further for CIF finals in pole vaulting, the 3200, and the 400 meter race. Goodkin was the only Mustang to qualify even further to Masters, where she jumped a record of 11’ 9”.
