Dear readers,
Hearing you talk about an issue as important as the grade increase makes working for the paper sincerely worthwhile. Even though many were upset with the article, please do try to be aware that the reporters on the story worked extremely hard to address this issue as objectively as possible.
Now that the hype has died down, it may be worth reading the article once more.
We doubt that teachers are going to rapidly change their method of grading because of one article in the newspaper. And there is a possibility that grade increase can negatively affect students.
The purpose of these in-depth articles is to trigger discussion within faculty and students, not create tension. And remember, we want to hear from you! Comment online, write an letter to the editor – just be proud of what you believe in.
Don’t worry about making critical comments. The staff is not out to get you!
Sincerely,
Julie
